PACC EDC MEETING 7-29-16

Present:  Brian Moore, Mark Schillig, Diane Grove, Laura Edelblute, Ron Cooley, Debbie Kohman, Chris Strayer, BJ King, Mike Compton & Mike Hurd
7:34 am - Meeting opened with Pledge of Allegiance
Reports: 

• Mike Hurd (Job Ready Site) – There are 110 acres in the Job Ready Site at the Pataskala Corporate Park in contract, 45 acres are in negotiation and a lot of other parties are looking at the site.
• BJ King (Pataskala) – Lots of interest in the Pataskala Corporate Park & Job Ready Site, Pataskala is looking into expanding the Community & Reinvestment areas-there are 4, there is discussion on making Mink St a main corridor from Rt 161 to I70, Pataskala is looking into a TIFF for Broad & Summit intersection, the Settlement Housing Development is building on 20-25 new lots, Monday, August 1^st, the new city planner begins, Pataskala budget process has begun and is ahead of schedule, Pataskala received 9 responses for police station designs and hopes to choose design by Sept.
• Mike Compton (Pataskala) – Street Fair begins August 17^th, Cookout with a Cop is this Saturday, July 30^th from 10-2pm, K-9 unit will be there along with WLFFA and possibly a police helicopter, Pataskala hopes to break ground on new police station by spring or early summer.   LMHS sponsoring Fireman’s challenge at Pataskala Street Fair.
• Chris Strayer (Columbus 2020) – 158 projects in the pipeline, activity is up but typically elections slow down the process.
• Mark Schillig (Southgate Corp) – Hazelton Crossing is moving along, Southgate to meet with builders for the single family homes for 155 lots in August, Southgate has a “proposed” 60,000 sq. ft. multi-tenant building at 1225 Etna Parkway and should have something to announce on this soon.
• Diane Grove (PACC) – Meet the Candidate meeting August 16 at Pataskala Grace with 13 candidates signed up so far, Sept 16 – Golf Outing-Cumberland Trails, Rack cards to hand out to prospective members of the Chamber are complete.
• Laura Edelblute (LMHS) – New building on W Main in Newark- orthopedic surgery office to open in Sept, Downtown Newark-urgent care & family practice to open in Jan, Movie night at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark celebrating 50^th Anniversary on August 5^th-The Wizard of Oz.  Pataskala hired a new primary care physician that will begin in December 2016.
